They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

It sounds like the "Pink Thingy" issue.

The shifter module for your 300 is probably broken. There is a release tab in case you are stuck in park which allows you to release the shifter from park. If you look to the upper right area of the shifter, there is a small black square tab you can pry open with a small screwdriver or knife. The opening is large enough to stick a screw driver or ink pen into to press down on the release tab. Start the car, press down on the brake, press the release tab, and it should be able to shift from park. If still stuck you will need to remove the chrome trim from around the shifter to reach your handle below the shifter, and move the pink release tab by hand.

Billet Specialties makes a billet Aluminum replacement for the poorly designed plastic POS. It could be as simple as the spring has broken or fallen off also, but I replaced mine with an aluminum one and have not had a problem since. Good luck.

make sure you have brake lights first... no lights = no signal

The white plastic lever in the front part of the shifter is bad about breaking where the spring hooks to it. You can get a kit through the dealer to fix this. The part number is 68088259ab. I know thats the one that the NAG1(5-speed auto) takes.

the little pink plastic lever breaks that holds the spring...Google it or u tube it ..i just did one on a 300..common problem..whole shifter must come out and separated to replace the item, item is 9 dollars...if you pop off the top shifter plate u can stick a screwdriver into the part and just move it to the side to shift and get it home..

Is definitely the pink thingy broken in the shifter. Both my LX platforms (Magnum + 300C) broke theirs. The Magnum went to the dealership where they fixed it under recall. My 300C wasn't listed in the recall. I use neutral + parking brake as substitute for Park until I get time to pull it and do the cotter pin fix (see lxforums for details). Temp fix for stuck in Park is pull the bezel by lifting with fingernail then use screwdriver (or ice pick or similar) to deflect the cable (coming in from the front) to the left enough for the Park release to engage.

here is the permanent fix http://www.custombilletstore.com/Genuine_Billet_Tech_Pink_Thingy_Replacement_p/1028.htm

i have done one of these on a charger getting the shifter out was the hardest part. and it wasn't to difficult just make sure you mark where the shifter cable is set at before you take it loose from the shifter.
