I'm looking at mechanical fuel pumps on summitracing.com. The GM4539 says that this fuel pump - gm4539
- has "stock" inlet and outlet sizes. What were stock for 69-71 440s? I'd like a threaded inlet and outlet rather than hose connections, but what size? 1/4 pipe thread? 5/16 pipe thread? 3/8 pipe thread? or are they 5/16 inverted flare fittings?

As always, thanks in advance,
Marq

Marq,

Cannot say for certain, but that looks like the same
unit I bought for my 340. The threads on mine
were 1/4" NPT or NPTF.

Thats all the help I can give.

This was covered a few weeks back, the pump you get won't look anything like the picture on the summit site...

Thanks. I just called Napa with that part number, and their book says the inlet is a hose barb, outlet threaded, with a stamped ring, rather than screwed shut, case. Guess I'll keep looking...
