I always felt there should be more in my scamp 440... Its been together for a couple of years but I just got it back from the paint shop last fall. I dont get to work on it much. I checked the throttle linkage and it was only opening a little over half way.... I bent the pedal rod and also found that the Lokar type fitting that mounts the cable onto the pedal was not letting the pedal go all the way to its rest positon, limiting travel... I put it back together and WOW what a difference... Now I have some tuning to do... I hope the back tires last long enough!! It will smoke them at 35 mph!

True story: my Duster's 1st time out, runs 12.80 back to back to back. Not impressed, should be an 11-sec car but it was new to me. Stop for pizza afterwards, my buddy's telling me I got hosed on the car, and suddenly it hits me; so I leave my buddy and run out to the car, realizing I'd had its custom throttle cable bracket off before going to the track. Sure enough, not getting full throttle.
After fixing that, it was an 11.40 car. Cheapest 1.40 ever!

Yes I am. This is my first big block build. 74 block stock bore, 452 heads tempate ported and cut .100 to make the closed chambered.M-1 intake w/ BG 850 carb. Comp 284 cam wirh roller 1.6 rockers, schumaker headers,2-1/2 all the way back, 727 unknown high stall. 355 grip lock mini tubbed and ss springs. I need to hook my wide band up and get some meat under it...

Its coming together... I did have fuel problems and finally got that straighten out....boooo waaaaaaaa!
