Hi,
Don't want to start another Edelbrock vs. Holley war, but I'm thinking about replacing the 600 cfm. Edelbrock on my 73 340 Cuda with a 80783 Holley (model 4150, 650 cfm vac. secondary, 67 pri., 73 sec. jets). The Edelbrock works ok, but seems to run lean in the idle and transition circuits. I've tried tuning it with different rods and springs, but that hasn't helped very much.
I've had pretty good luck with a 3310 Holley on my 71 Challenger R/T. The jetting was good right out of the box and I only had to do some minor accelerator pump tuning. Based on this, I'm thinking that the 80783 may be a good choice for the Cuda.
Anyone have any real-world experience with this carb? How was this carb as far as gas mileage is concerned?
