I was finishing up a tune up on my warlock and for some reason the new coil to distributor cap wire would not snap into the coil. I checked the old wire and the connector that snapped onto the coil was the sameone that snapped onto the coil. On the new set of wires all the connectors are the same and work fine except wire the coil wire snaps onto the coil.

I bought the new set of spark plug wires direct from Summit and they are the correct ones for a small block dodge v8.

Is the coil just really old (which is why it takes the old style connector that the dustributor cap takes) or did MSD happen to put the connector onto the end ofthe coil to distributor cap wire in the set of sparkplug wires?

I think what your asking is:

Should the coil have a female connection like an older distributor cap or should it have a male end similar to a spark plug or HEI style distributor cap.

The MSD wire set may be made in assumption that the user will have a MSD or other high output coil.

The stock type coil and stock replacements will still have the "old" style female connection. Often times there will be two coil wires in aftermarket plug wire kits.

After going to my local autoparts store I opted to go ahead get a new high output coil. It will save me time in the long run and will be a nice upgrade to the ignition system.

Sometimes you have to spread the "terminal" that fits in the coil
