Thanks for all the help in the past guys, I have two more questions to ask.

First question, is are all dana 60 rear ends that came stock in passenger cars sure grip carriers? I was talking to a guy and he said that all mopar cars with the dana 60 rear end came as sure grips. Just wanted to know if this were true.

Second question, Is there a difference between AAR T/A fiberglass hood springs. If so, what is the difference? The reason I am asking is that YearOne has a different price for T/A and AAR hood springs, and I would like to know what spring to use for a fiberglass hood on my '68 Charger.

I can't help with the fiberglass hood spring question, but I can with the Dana 60 question.

Yes, all the cars that were sold new with a Dana 60 had "SureGrip". There were two different styles offered and the PowerLock was the strongest, but even it could be worn out. I have a 30 spline PowerLock carrier for 4.10 down gears that I was going to use in my '64 Polara until I found a Torsen Gleason worm drive and used it. This unit is now made by Eaton and does not require special fluid additives to prevent chatter around corners. They are completely transparent in operation and are the best answer today for traction.

On the springs iirc they used the same spring as steel hoods, hence the bow in the center.

The Gleason Torsen is NOT a Truetrac. Period.
Last I heard of the Torsen it was made by Zexel.
The Truetrac is a Detroit product, was bought by Eaton recently IIRC.

The D60s came with either TracLoc or PowrLok. Powrlok was 4 pinion, TracLoc was two.
