My understanding is big turbo diesels in the heavy duty trucks can easily last 250k+ miles because they are built using heavy duty parts in order to handle the added abuse of a diesel engine. Are the smaller turbo diesels, e.g. the 3.0 EcoDiesel in the GC/Ram, built in the same fashion? Are they going to be expected to last 250k+ miles, too?

The 3.0 v6 is built by VM Motori which is a Diesel specialist.
Any modern engine should go 250K miles. It's the next 250K that matters.
