Pulling away from a stop sign last night, start off fine in first but never shifted into second... just started revving. So I'm limping home and the engine light comes on. If I keep it in 1'st it stays there, but at one point I went from N to 1'st and it went to like 2nd or 3rd (with column shift in 1'st)... put it in drive and it shifted normal. Stopped at another light, same as before, pulls fine in first, but when it should go to 2nd it just starts revving. Any ideas?

I believe it is in limp mode.It's a built in saftey feature to keep you from causing further damage to what ever went bad. Happaens when you have problems so check for codes and see what's wrong. It may not be trans rekated.
