"Supposedly" my Dart has a 340TA engine in it. I have not looked to see that this is true.
Where exactly is the number stamped on the block and is there anything that confirms it is indeed a TA block?

It is CAST into the side of the block 3577130TA-340

..... but "T/A" blocks were used and built as 4bbl engines in 1971 (& maybe after T/A & AAR production in '70???). So, you'd have to confirm the partial VIN# on the block you have was built during T/A & AAR production. Is the info on the front face of the block below driver's side head different 6bbl vs. 4bbl?

I finally found it and it is definitely NOT a TA block! Serial # starts with a 278xxx .The casting date was 06-70

whether they were used in a pickup truck or a VW..the TA block will have the partnumber and TA cast into the block that is shown above.
