03 dodge dakota with a 4.7 and I was wondering if I could use the ford 5.4 or mabey some of the Accel injectors in it for better atomization and hp along with a couple other up grades like KN cold air kit and cat back exhaust. I have used those injectors on older magnum motors with good results and was wondering if they were still drop ins on later engines like this.

Thanks in advance!

I don't know 4.7's so answer this. Aren't the injectors the thin Bosch type? Raising the fuel pressure is the most logical way to help atomization and fuel flow accross the range, assuming you'll need it.

You said you have used ford 5.4 injectors on magnum motors? What benefits did you yeild? I am always looking for any little upgrde for my magnum 318. A friend of mine has an 03 DAK w/4.7. That he put a cold air on, electric fan, did away with the engine fan, headers, removed the cat conv., 3" exhaust to a flowmaster, 4.56 rear gear with 17" wheels. That truck is very quick and has awesome throttle response.

Better mpg and hp smoother idle. The ford injectors have way better atomization charicturistics. If you have had the heads off a magnum motor after they have been ran for a few miles you can see the injector shoots a solid stream of fuel right up against the side of the port and the fuel runs down the bottom of the port and never has a chance to get atomized. The ford injector has 4 nozzles pointing in different directions but similar flow numbers (the 5.4 is actually a little more flow and I think the 4.6 flows a little less). I had 4.6 injectors on a 95 5.9 and it seemed to smoothe it out and help MPG but hurt power a tad, the 5.4 injectors put the power back up how it was before but it still ran smoother and mpg was better. The plug ins were the same for quite a few years but I don't know how the new plug ins are shaped on the newer skinny injectors.

The accel injectors have an even better spray patter it is a cone and no streams.

I have a 92 5.2, and it has a lot of power, but always would like more, and if I can get better mpg while doing it, then that's cool too. So you would suggest using the 5.4l injectors in an application like mine with a 92 5.2, I also have a 95 5.2 would they work for that too?

If you are still running the stock computer I have a extra performance computer that is a big improvement. My 93 5.2 Sport 2WD regular cab with 2.5 exhaust and 3.55 sure grip will smoke just about any stock 5.0 Mustang.

What would you take for the computer?
