Working on a buddy's Stealth and i can't get the fans to work. Fuse checks out good. I got the plug off the ECU temp sensor and shorted the two terminals together with the key in the run position and nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Haven't worked on a Mitsu for awhile but I recall the (2) water temp sensors are on the bottom part of the radiator. One turns on @ 185 degrees and the other like 205 degrees, just ground each respective lead which triggers a power relay for each fan..

Just my $0.02...

Thanks for the info, this thing is a nightmare. Found more relays and fuses on the drivers fender, fuse was good and if the fans are divided as you say and neither work i'm guessing the ecu must control the fans too? Thanks for the help!

You're going to need a diagram...hopefully someone can help you out. I've seen some of the early imports with 3 temp sensors...1 for the gauge, 1 for the fans and 1 for the ECU. There's a reason we hated working on that stuff!!

I used to work on the Dodge Stealth's at our dealer but its been a few years since I did. As was said its best to get the wiring scematic as there was so many different systems even on the Mitubisi cars that I would get the wiring and follow it out. Most fans are controlled by the engine control module and some have more then one speed and more then one relay. I willl say they did not screw up alot but when they did I found out the Japenese like to use alot of relays and switches. With the wiring scematic you can also find which fuses feed them as some are under the hood and some under the dash. I wish I could tell just what it is but they really did not screw up much. Ron
