For some reason I can't understand, F8 looks way darker than F5 in the color charts. And there has been discussion that grille blackout paint was omitted for F8, presumably because it's so dasrk.
My one-owner car is F5 with F8 on the upper door frames. Here's a photo in sunlight showing both colors on the door. This paint never saw the light of day until I took off the vinyl/cardboard door panel recently, so the paints have to be close to the factory fresh colors.

...and for WIW, I believe most F8 cars got the blackout despite the assembly line memo. Dave

2) I don't believe the part under the panel that you've labelled F8 is F8; it is F5 discolored by the adhesive, the only F8 part is the exposed upper door frame.
Not so. If you saw the door in person, it would be obvious to you that the factory masked off the F5 and painted the F8. The factory masking is why there is a sharp, straight edge between the colors. The adhesive is only where you see it, with no adhesive at the masking lines. That's the reason I took the picture and labeled it for myself. Same is true elsewhere on the door. And also this same shade of F8 is on the rear seat window frame and the roof rail - they all match.
I might add that the photo is the bottom of the door, not the "upper door frame". I had never noticed that they painted the bottom part with F8 also. This is a 69 Barracuda - don't know if other models have the bottoms of the doors painted same as the upper door frame.
Seems reasonable that the interior paint was not of exterior quality, as you say, because the interior F8 is definitely not very dark and not so different from the F5 today.
The exterior of my car is F5, but several exterior F8 cars I have seen look so close to F5 that I had to look at the fender tags to be sure.
