On cars with the(fad) aliumin valve covers what r u fellas using the oil fill holes for?If u r using it for the purpose of filling engine oil what caps r u using?If u using it for some other reason let me no looking for ideals pics of your cover on the engine would be cool to.......Thax.

Thanks for posting this I want to put some on my covers to check oil drain back from the head but in the past I used the breather hole for the crank case evac.

Thaxs Bigtime/Jughead on the caps they came in yesterday now my next ?.Has anyone tried polishing those indy cast covers or can that even be done?I'm thinking(if it can be done)polishing/clear coating them to help keep the oil fingerprints down.Any ideas..........Thax.

Mine are the evac breathers but i got the threaded version from Summit and welded the threaded coupler on instead of using the nuts that are provided. No more leaks and easy to fill.

You'd probably have to go through a 100 Indy covers before you found 2 that are good enough to polish. Mine and all the others I've seen over the years have had too many pits in the castings to turn out really nice. I just painted mine with aluminum engine enamel - at least any won't soak into the pores and can be wiped off.

FWIW I've never seen an Indy product where they seemed to care about outward appearance - the part is for performance only, ya wanna look good, buy a new suit!
