Has anyone tried polishing those indy cast covers or can that even be done?
You'd probably have to go through a 100 Indy covers before you found 2 that are good enough to polish. Mine and all the others I've seen over the years have had too many pits in the castings to turn out really nice. I just painted mine with aluminum engine enamel - at least any won't soak into the pores and can be wiped off.
FWIW I've never seen an Indy product where they seemed to care about outward appearance - the part is for performance only, ya wanna look good, buy a new suit!
