Hello, new to forum. I have a 1975 Dodge Travco with a 440 and a 727. The transmission is leaking. I thought it wa the pan gasket so I chaged it twice before I found the leak. It was hard to see but from what my searching has revealed is that it is a pivot pin for the reverse band and it has an o ring (or possibly 2) and that is where it is leaking. My question is how to fix it and fast. We are supposed to go camping this weekend. Being that this is a Dodge M500 chassis it is very accessible. If I cn remove the tailhousing without much difficulty do I need to drop the pan as well and does the valvebody need to come out ? I have never dissasembled a Chrysler Valve body. ONly GM TH350/400 and it ha been a number of years since that. Thanks for any help. I am a diesel truck mechanic so have decent ability but don't normally mess with automatics.

To quick fix it, spray it all off with a good cleaner and carefully apply one of the Permatex ATF resistant rtv silicone sealers on it. Then, another day, remove the extension housing, drop the pan and pull the valve body and get to the lower band apply linkage and pull the pin out and fix it with new o-rings. Tom

Thank you for the responses. That is what I will do although getting it tipped up may be difficult. it weighs 14,000 lbs...
Do you have access to an incline you can back it up and chock the wheels to help hold it ?
