i'm looking at buying a 470 stroker with Stage 6 heads from a member on here. anybody running the Stage 6 head able to post their combo with a pic of it please. i'm buying this motor on behalf of a friend who will be using my 'cuda in a night streetcar racing series. would be cool if they could see some combo's with these heads. thanx

Mine was a 500" low deck.

Heads were done by Don Studley.. (Major Project)

Pedestals milled off and used rocker stands for geometry because longer valves used.

2.18 x 1.81.. Don't know flow numbers, Don never told me..

Heads were milled quite a bit for compression, 13:1 with flat top and 1105 head gasket.

Indy 400-3 intake 1050 Dom. (9375)

Cam Motion CM-1 cam 276-283 .737/.672 w/ 1.6 rockers.

Car weighed 2950# Powerglide w/9" super class converter 6200 stall

4.30 gears.. 14 x 32 M/T tires

Went best of 9.25 @ 143 in Phoenix.. Never ran @ sea level though..

I have a 400 based 451 with Max Wedge size Stage VI heads (flow 310ish), Mopar 590 cam, Indy 440-3 intake, Quick Fuel 1050 Dominator. With my current piston, I'm a little over 13:1. With me in it the car goes 3300lbs the bests are in my signature.

When i was researching heads I remember reading the comment that the Stage VI's were very well suited for the smaller displacement engines 451/470 but based on the previous post they seem to do fine on the larger displacement stuff also.

My only compliant is the amount of oil they hold near the bottom side of the valve cover and that is even after I have cut some reliefs in the spring pockets. However in the scope of things very very small price to pay.
