50lb flywheel, why so heavy ?

I think the std for the heavy wheels these days is 30lb , like the one in the link above me ...

A 50 lb flywheel gives me the thickness needed to adapt to this specific application... by a bit of re-machining. It will be approximately 30 lbs when I am done. An over the counter 30 lb will not work.

I know I have a really heavey steel 130 tooth in my hoard. I'll weigh it tonight.

A 50 lb wheel is almost 2 inches thick. (disregard the red lines)

The centers are well over 1.250 thick. That offers a lot of possibilities, as far a re-machining.

You ever find one??

I actually need a 38#.

I need a 130 tooth, for a 1970 restoration using vintage parts.
