98RAM1500 OP super stock 9 Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 1,176 Crockett ,TX	what about cutting around it with a die grinder with the little cutting wheel & drill all 4 corners then pop riveting it to the other cab? think they would frown at it when getting a inspection sticker or just best to leave it off & not worry about cause I mean they don't look at those anyway right.

135sohc mopar 1 Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 637 SoMd, USA	Cut the piece off and stick it in the glovebox. While your intentions arnt bad with what your asking could easily be seen by someone else not familair with the work done as VIN swapping/tampering for illicit reasons.

But I do have the VIN dash Plate from the original dash which will be transfered to the better dash & I also have the VIN plate thats mounted on the cowl under the wiper grill & of course the frame has the vin number. I had to switch to a better cab on my 84 D150 & the original dash looked like it had the **** beat out of it.

98RAM1500 OP super stock 9 Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 1,176 Crockett ,TX	Thanks is it for the 78 lil red data decal or the 78-80 Vin decal they have listed, I always thought that the 78's had the metal tag on the door & the 79 was the first year for the decal on the door jam, I might be wrong. guessing it's probably the 95.00 one
