Already swapped to front disc brakes. Not sure of the rear ratio. I can put the 3 speed back in, but it needs a reseal. That and the 318 screams at 65. So if I'm reading right: Front discs. Check Brake controller. Any recommendations? 3/4t springs would be a big help Any other ideas? I am going to need to use the truck soon to bring the car home. So that should give me an idea

Pull in third gear (1:1 in the 833od). Don't get too wrapped up in the common misconception around here saying the 833od can't take it: If they can live behind a 650 hp six pack stroked big block in a 4000 pound B-body ( a certain '69 SuperBee that I know of ) they can survive in your application. The 833od I'm running now in my beater had a past life pulling a "big" holiday trailer according to the previous owner. Big enough I'm sure because the bolt-on hitch the Old Fart used bent the rear bumper from whatever it was he towing. Nothing wrong with it at 80,000 miles other than the clutch is weak from being improperly adjusted. I doubt you need to fuss around with changing springs in your truck either. Move the car further back on the car hauler and get the weight over the trailer wheels where it belongs, the way a car is supposed to be loaded on a trailer.Happy trails!
