Does this sound like a dumb idea for a heavy car? Are their any bellhousings that will fit it onto a 833 4 speed?

Bobsprofab makes an adapter. Don't know if you could use the NASCAR bell with an 833. If that worked you could save a lot of aggravation.

If you have a stock K-member or even a tubular you are going to either raise the engine to the sky or need to get a custom pan done. You could make a wet sump pan and run a single stage pump but, you have to do some work to the engine so the oil can drain from cam tunnel to pan.

A Nascar bellhousing is also designed for a small clutch. They are, however, available for cheap money, and would be worth experimenting with.

I have everything you need. Fresh R5/P7 complete engine, stainless tri-y headers, bell housing with 7.25" triple disc clutch and flywheel along with the starter. All for $5500! PM me if interested.

Jesse ran a 833 when he installed his P7 engine into his Duster, pretty sure he ran an adapter to do so
