Got my 440 Six Pack "Almost Pure Stock" rebuild on the Pump and should make some pulls in a day or two. Here is a link to the build info: https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/show...e=0#Post7643791Just your basic .034" over 440 at 9.5 to 1 compression, with Mr Six Pack stock Camshaft, stock stroke, 906 iron heads, and using stock Exhaust Manifolds and stock cast iron Intake Manifold. It made 450.8HP at 5,500rpm and 508.4 lb/ft TQ at 3,900 rpm Horsepower held on very well with 442.6 HP remaining at 5,900 rpm. BSFC at peak TQ was .471 so the engine is pretty efficient for a pump gas street deal... Air fuel ratio at peak TQ was 13.3 and at peak HP it was 14.1 Engine idled right down to 650 rpm as smooth as you could dream of and at 900 rpm it pulled 19 in Vaccum. This is all thanks to Bob K's Mr Six Pack Cam... Can't imagine a better cam for a real Street muscle car using stock Exhaust. Congrats to "6 pack runner" for guessing the HP dead on! Cheers, Arnie

I am using Superperformance gaskets for the carbs, timing cover, and water pump which should boost output... Breaking in the cam tonight and make some pulls tommorow! Cheers, Arnie

Just read your other thread. Should make a nice street motor, except for the gears of course. I reckon 445 hp Mick

with a 9.5:1 stock stroke, iron headed, stock cam, pushed thru logs? I don't see how.

Thanks for the support Arnie and I guarantee a performance increase with your choice of gaskets after the spelling correction
Now when your tired of cooking your valve cover gaskets with the HP manifolds Superformance now has a cure for that as well
I'm not good with HP guesses so I won't hazard one. Good luck on the dyno and I want to hear how that cam sounds at idle

472hp/535lb/ft...very broad torque with a fairly low rpm peak around 3900-4000rpm, peak hp around 5200.
It's not the peaks, it's getting to the peak torque and trying your hardest not to allow it to drop off for as long as you can...thats the trick to running with manifolds. Small cam in late with an optimum sized intake runner and good porting on a 906 can keep the VE high for a relatively long RPM span. The dyno numbers may not be (comparatively) impressive but the ET's still can be.

Based upon your 13.2 @ 104, assuming 4000 lbs. @ 2600 ft., you were making 380 hp....adding 1. lightweight pistons 2. better valvejob 3. Bob k. cam 4. better ignition 5. 30 year newer machine work
Are you dynoing with exhaust manifolds or headers ?
450 hp seems doable....500 seems very optimistic even with headers...

My engine guy actually just finished dynoing another 440 6 pack he built for a friend of mine that was bored .060" over and with a little more compression (10 to 1) and the MP Stock Cam and his peak power was 396 HP, so the Bob K Cam, mild port work, and thinner ring pack made 54 more HP from the same basic motor... Both were stock Exhaust manifolds and run on 91 octane non-ethanol pump gas. Also my pulls were made with Joe Gibbs 15W50 Break in oil, so Oil pressure was peaking at 80psi. This should come down a hair with a good 10W30 once i put it in the car. This might add 2 - 3 hp ... If anyone is interested, I can post the dyno sheets tommorow?? Cheers, Arnie
