I have (2) cars that I am working with right now in order to make (1) with all the features I want that could never be ordered.

Here is what I have:

72 Demon -- very clean and solid, nice tail end, lower 1/4's only need small patches, doors are nice and floor boards are solid.

73 Dart Sport (with moon roof) & fold down rear seat. Floors are solid, needs full 1/4 both sides, needs doors, truck and tail end are nice.

What I want to do is the following: I want to build a Demon with factory moon roof and fold rear seat.

My question is the following: (In your opinions)

Would it be quicker to swap the Demon tail end, new 1/4's and doors from the 72 Demon onto the 73 Dart Sport?

Or would it be quicker to move the moon roof and fold down rear seat to the Demon?

Any thoughts.... grant the are alot of variables here I am just asking some opinions based on how long it takes you to do 1/4's versus how long and if it is even possible to swap the moon roof or fold down rear seat.

Thanks--Demon71

i don't know how a fold down seat mounts so i don't know if this would make more work for you. i am assuming there some brackets that need to be welded in.
but in my opinion it would be easier and a cleaner job to install the roof on the demon. it would probably be worth more money that way also.

In terms of time spent, you will be better off restoring the Demon, if it is a more solid car to start with. Are you swapping the whole roof, or just the moon roof? The time to swap the moon roof over from the Dart isn't even comparable to the time needed for BOTH quarters. To do them right is easily 15 to 20 hours PER SIDE. And I am sure that you will run into hidden rust problems, you always do on these cars. Plus, you say the Demon is better off to start with, so if having a moon roof is the only issue, why not restore that one? Just my .

If I start with the Demon then the only items I would need to swap over are the following:

factory moon roof
Fold Down rear seat brackets
fold down rear seat rear package tray
Everything else would just need some minor patching.

So it sounds like the time it would take to do the 1/4's and the tail panel may be more than the time of putting the moon roof & fold down rear seat into the Demon??? Is that the consensus??

I think so.

Are the Demon and Dart Sport roofs the same? If so, break out the and get to it!
