I am getting a mess of oil around my steering box, it is apparent that the leak is at the seal of the shaft to the coupler. I filled the box with gear lube and am not sure if I overfilled or not, but I am thinking it is leaking out. My problen is the leak looks to be spraying and making a mess, this means there is pressure behind this and did not think the manual box would do that. I cannot find any other source yet but will be getting it up in the air tommorow.Should I buy a replacement box or need to do a seal job. Not sure of the dollars and related work for the tradeoff.

Thoughts or experiences.

You sure its not coming from something else - like the oil pump maybe? There is no pressure in a manual box. Mine leaks too but its got a cracked case - soon to be swapped.
