This topic gets discussed every few months. Do a search to see what people say, but most will say the stock Dakota replacement as stated above.

I still use a starter off of a 78 Dodge Omni and it came from the factory with a VW motor. Bolts right up and spins the old "Rod Shop" Hemi block to life. Try finding one of those bad boy starters.

Late model 360 Truck starter.I run a 99 Durango 360 in my 12.5 440.Been in at least 15 years and still works great.Cost was 75 bucks at Advanced.Rocky
