Some may remember that back in '08 I started a project build thread for my 71 Demon. It was one of the first threads in the newly formed Member Projects & Survivor Pictures category. I put up a lot of pictures from start to finish on the build that took over a year (see thread here: https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=0&Number=4805500&page= )

Well, I've decided to try it again with my 71 Satellite Sebring Plus (SSP from now on to save some key strokes). Hopefully the build thread won't linger on for over a year because of two reasons: first, I would like to get the car running and driving by the end of the summer and second I've already started and just didn't tell anyone

I will show you some pictures that will get you up to speed with where I am at and I will continue to take additional pictures as I progress. I hope this thread will help others get questions answered or will help them get off the couch and get busy. Please let me know if you have any questions.

So, here we go...

Bought the car about six or seven years ago for $1500 and drove it home. It's a '71 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus wearing mostly original A4 Winchester Grey Poly paint with black vinyl top and white pin stripes (forgot the code name for that). Interior is black with bucket seats and center console. The car has the original numbers matching 383/727 and came from the factory with a 2-brl carb. There was a little bit of rust on the drivers floor due to the vinyl top rusting out part of the windshield channel. There was a little rust behind the rear wheels as well. Trunk floor was fine.

Here is the car in line with the other candidates for restoration (Demon is already complete, Coronet 500 is next on the list).

On the trailer just getting back from the car wash to get the 40 years of grease off the engine/tranny.

Some of the rust on the car. Now I know what you guys back east have to put up with...

This will need to be cut out and replaced.

Awesome, hopefully you can get into my Photobucket. I have my complete build, 400 pics. Beginning to end.

Good luck. It's the coolest body style ever built by Plymouth.

Cool car. I love the reaction of your boy when you start it!

Actually I noticed the radio delete bezel as well. Very unique, luckily I do not need one.

How do I see your photobucket photos? I would like to take a look.

rust? I don't see no rust! All I see is floorboards, no frame rails, no garage floor! back here we'd call that mint! a local guy used to have a '71 road runner that was Winchester Grey. Beautiful color.
good luck on your build
