Thanks Ray. So it appears that the correct # for the smaller hose is 2936 402 42095 and 860457 83044 for the larger hose, correct? I have been sold two different sets by people who should know better. My trust factor is starting to wane a bit.

Those are the correct numbers. I have stencils if you want to make your own set. use the hoses you have.

Let us all remember that there were at least 4 different vendors for heater hoses. The vendor code is the second number on the hose (5-digits). Most of the time, a given vehicle will have hoses from the same vendor, but there are innumerable examples of survivor cars where this is not the case. A group of cars that were built within a given time frame can certainly have different vendor codes on the hoses, depending on what was on hand at the plant at that time. Some hoses are smooth, and some have a variety of rib patterns. Also, there are examples of hoses I have seen, especially on 70 cars, where the hoses have longitudinal stripes.

This is a pretty interesting thread....
I've just been looking at the hoses from the website above and am gonna replace mine with some corrctly part numbered items.
Problem
The inlet/outlets on my waterpump are different sizes...the rear is smaller
The inlet/outlet on my heater matrix are both the same.....
Do i have
A.the wrong martix
B.the wrong water pump housing
Or is one of the hoses a different size at one end
car is a 68 superbee 383
Cheers
Simon

I beliefe it was 1970 that chrysler went to the different sized heater hoses, that would mean you have a later water pump housing....I know 70 has 5/8" & 1/2"...69 I'm not sure but I think it's 5/8" & 5/8"...

My 70 R/T has it's original heater hoses. They look nothing like anything that is being offered today.

Bill,
I had a look at your website earlier.
I will likely order these parts and some more from you.
I presume you will ship to me in the uk?

Thanks Tom,
That's what i thought,bsp= british standard pipe.
While i've been looking at this i've noticed a few companies in the states selling non mopar aluminium housings?
Are they any good?
There is a lot of $ difference between them and the Mopar ones?
