Stock 69 GTX 440 4bbl auto. On occasion, at very low speeds, it stalls. Then it starts up again with no problem. This has happened a couple of times.

Take out the idle mixture screws out of the carb (count the # of turns to lightly seated to easily return them to their original position(s). Fit one of those thin red straws to the nozzle on a can of starting fluid. shoot a healthy 2 or 3 second blast into each carb mixture hole then replace the idle mixture screws. Gasahol (10% ethanol) will also act like that. Check reluctor gap if electronic ign but you said stock so I'm assuming points.

Thanks for the reply. It's stock but with electronic ignition. I meant not souped up.
