Mark
MARK, congrats on the killer J do i miss it you ask ?? a little over 28 years ago i pulled that cuda out of a cotton field in mississippi, as a rust free shell, it went thru a few changes over the years, till i finally had the cash to turn it in to the pro street machine i always wanted as a kid, if my work schedule was more off tiem friendly, ide of kept it im sure,,and made a few more changes,,probably turned it in to a more of a pro touring type car,, as i sell off the tons of extra parts ive collected over the years, i start to realize that its gone,,,,thanks for asking enjoy your J
28 years is a long time with a car. I had another car for 22 or 23 years and did a complete top to bottom rebuild on it...... I miss it!!!

any numbers you mite be feeling confident it will do ?
Not really Eric. The last pass was in 1981 1/8th was a 6.43 @ 108 and 1/4 was a 10.43 @ 129 (too much gear). It really is a different car now. I don't know what it weighs, or how much HP the engine makes. If the car weighs in @ 2600 lbs. with me in it, and the engine will make 750 hp, then it should be much quicker than before! It used to weigh 2490 lbs. less driver, with a cast iron BBC. It had leaf springs on front and rear, drum brakes, narrowed OLDS rear, plexi windows, huge ladder bars, and a three point roll bar. I think these are the major differences. The new engine is supposed to be just over 500 lbs., QA1 coil overs, Wilwood disc brakes, glass windows, ladder bars, and complete cage. Indy rates their 572 @ 770 HP. Mine is very similar in specs, but I think I have a better set of heads. (Stage V CNC @ MCH ) So, would you care to guess? LOL I weigh 182 lbs.

well, i think i will lock in my numbers. [remember the show 'pass time'?]...... i would think you should have no trouble going an easy 9.88 or so with a cautious tune and taking it easy on the first few passes. just a W.A.G. from a guy that is dummer than a bag o hammers.... but you will be faster than me 'cause i weigh 20lbs more than you ! good luck and keep us up to date !

Eric, I had the car NHRA certified for 8.50 and slower. While he was looking at the car I had him do a tech inspection, as if we were at the track. I fixed a couple small items he said needed to be done. So that is out of the way. I need a check mark smiley. A lot of rain around here lately. I need another test drive on the street to check out some of the adjustments I have made. The wheelie bars would have hit the rear roll pan the way things were, if the car went into a wheelie. I raised the rear of the car and adjusted the shocks, on all four corners. Mark
