Dana 60...4.56 for street/strip. Which is best for use with four speed. I have read some people not liking the locker with manual trans, and have seen some negatives to the traclok. Indy headed 440. 600ish hp. Thanks for all advise. Axles are getting made so 30 or 35 spline.

You want a Dana Power Loc. I have one in my Dana 60 and it works great,in fact it's been working since 1982 with no problems.

At that power level and torque I would strongly suggest the 35 spline Power-Lock unit I don't think they are making them new anymore so you better grab one soon.

Can they be bought new. I've read nothing but good things about them but cannot find one new anywhere.

www.doctordiff.com will give you the straight scoop on what's available.

If a Truetrac is available for that, it'd be my #1 choice.

If you go with a dana 70 from a truck, your chances of getting a power lock a good with 35 splines and it has a 10.5" ring gear. The housing is the same size as a 60. Dutchman can narrow a truck housing and put the ford ends (disc brakes for cheap) on for around 375 including shipping. Shafts are another 400 in either 1541 or 4340. I did the Jana 76, if I was to do it again, I would have bought the 70 housing first. Tim
