Towing to staging lanes for first round. Someone went through security. Made wide turn hit front end. Got fender door jacked up head bezel an glass bumper. NHRA an police involed an alot of witnesses. I'm sick to my stomach. I pulled fender out of wheel for first round but lost. Went 8.99. Super Comp racers all love the car think its very cool!

That sucks Shawn, hopefully you get it back in pristine condition soon, and without money out of your own pocket.

Sorry to hear abot the car getting hit. Trust me when I say I feel your pain. My front end has been hit by golf carts, cars and even a trash can. We have had to repaint it 6 times. Sucks that it happened but I know you will get it back and all prettied up soon.

Good luck getting them to pay. Not that they should not ut it is kinda the honor system on the racetrack. Hopefully they will step up and pay for the damage. Our incident with the golf cart they said they woudl pay but itnever materialized.

Doesn't NHRA cover vehicle damage with their insurance in minor deals at their events or is it just for personal injury that you have coverage? If they don't they should!! There should be some benefit to playing their game.

If it was a racing accident( got loose, etc.) I would be more understanding, but this is a case of pure negligence.

NHRA heartland park an police are involved an helping me. He had no credentials went past all security they have said. He's going to be shocked when he sees the bill for a chrome fiberglass bumper among other parts for a 64 Dodge.

If it was hooked to his insured tow vehicle, it's no different than any other collision. At least that is how it was handled, when a trailer backed into my Dart, at Eddyville. I had an estimate, and his company paid.

Sorry to hear Shawn.3 years ago a racer speeding through the sportsman pits at HPT hit another racer.The offending racer said tough crap.Changed his tune when the Topeka PD showed up.He didn't know that HPT is city property and the cops do have jurisdiction there.I do know he was issued tickets for speeding and wreckless driving.I never heard how the insurance issue was resolved.

I was told he was a local racer. He brought his trailer in to sell someting. Someone let him im main entrance. Then when he went to back parking area where sportsman racers were the gate offical gate me he would not stop.

Topeka is a nightmare.. Especially at a National Event.. You probably had to tow a mile if you're parked out in the south 40..

Sucks that it happened.. Tough to fix these back right..

I hate that track.. Something bad always happened every time I raced there..

The track used to spit water up out of cracks and wrecked cars at every event..
