I have a 1974 slant that is missing the damper bolt but has threads, did they ever go without like a chiivy?

If I'm setting the lifters cold cuz the engine is out right now what is the cold lash since everything bit of info says set them hot?

Mitch

There is no bolt. You can use a small block one if you want to have one.

I always set them cold. .011 on the intakes and .021 on the exhaust.

Some guys get all up in arms about setting them cold. I always invite them to set them running on my motor with the .560" lift cam in it.

It's a Slant, not a Ferrari.

Setting the lash was a pain with it running even with the erson 270 cam that was in mine!

Like a lot of things Ma Mopar did, the bolt seems to be random. Some have it, most don't.

I put one in for the ease of turning the motor over with a wrench.
