Just finished building the 440 for the cuda. Builder has a dyno so I figure why not? Good info to be had and shared. Here are the details. Numbers matching U-Code cuda. Dana with Trac-Pac 3:54 and 4sp. I bought the car from the second owner who installed a 69 six-pac set up on it in 1979 so I'm keeping that for now. Pro-Max restored the carbs. Bored 40 over, cut stock crank .020. Weisco 10.5-1 pistons, Eagle forged rods, stock heads with good valve job and some pocket porting, Mr. Six-Pac cam. Exhaust manifolds. I will post the results as soon as I get them.

John

Sounds pretty cool...

I am also using a Mr Six Pack Cam on my 440 build underway right now and will also dyno it, so we can compare results.

did you flow the heads after pocket porting??

Cheers,

Arnie

Yes. I did not go over that yet but will share that as well. Is yours going in the super bee?

John

Yes, it is the original numbers matching engine for my V code Super Bee, so I finally decided to go right through it and upgrade everything possible while staying as stock as possible...

My 906's used to flow about 236 cfm after a decent valve job and mild pocket porting. Going to try and improve mid lift flow a bit more, as the Mr Six pack cam won't open the valves past .500" anyways...

Keep us posted!

Arnie

Sorry for the delay, I went through two new Mopar Performance distributors both of them did not work so I sent them back. I put in an MSD and now I have some numbers. 427 HP@ 5400rpm @ 496 ft pounds torque . Will have more on Monday.Anyone else have problems with Mopar performance distributors? Pick up coils were bad in both! John

Yes. I drive my cars any chance I get. So I wanted a nice street engine that I can have a little fun at the track with, but also drive to Mopar and muscle car events comfortably. Most of the TQ comes in starting at 2400 rpm! This should be a blast on the street. I will post the sheets when I pick them up on Tuesday. The builder called me today with those numbers. I haven't seen them. Did a a similer build on my ex-71 cuda 383 years ago. Used to drive from Ct to the nats in Ohio, run low 13's all day and drive home. Loved it. John

Hey John, I don't recognize your car from your avatar so I dont think I've seen it before. Should run strong for sure. I'm from Danbury so we're pretty close.

I go to the Bills Drive in cruise on route 111 in Monroe on Saturday nights, its a small cruise but we get a lot of MoPars there. If you get a chance to pop over come check it out. We usually even have a Hemi Superbird there.
