Im hoping someone can help me with this i dont have power at the end of the harness by the transmission, first i checked the bulb, the trans was redone by Jamie Passion n the switch was replaced . the backup lights do not work either, any advise would be great thanks

The switch is just that , a switch. did you check to see if it is open between the 2 connections when not in reverse and closed when in reverse ?

I'm pretty sure it is also making a path to ground so you should not see any power on the lines.

Double check the fuse..
If blown next check the switch..
We have seen the reverse switch short out to ground and blows the fuse. Check continuity from each of the switch's (2) terminals to ground.. Should be no continuity.. If yes, then the switch is shorted..

Next check continuity between the contacts, the switch is normally open.. And the contacts close (make continuity) when the trans is pushed into reverse.

When replacing the switch try to find one made in the USA or Canada, the same switch covers many years and now many of the auto parts stores only sell the junko China one..

got it guys, a shorted backup bulb kept the fuse blown thanks for the help Now how bout the tic toc tack? could that bee something simple to look for?

Yea!!!! got the tach working but it seems to be reading about 1500 rpms to high, is there anything to fix that issue?
