Already have 18"s and RS3-A Coopers to go on and a larger brake is easier to modulate with your foot....
No chinese Michelin's or BFG's for me (Look it up where they started producing their passenger tires).

The country of origin is on the tire.

Michelin still makes a lot of tires in the US. Their primary plants are in Europe.

I had looked into some 315/30-18's.... the BFG was made here in the USA, the Michelin's were from France. (And German made Pirelli's) from memory.

Michelin is over priced for what you get.

Feets your right the country of origin is on all tires. Look at most Michelin, BFG and Goodyear "Name Brand" tires most say Made in CHINA now.

Some Michelins are over priced but I've run them back to back with comparable Continental and Pirelli tires and the Michelins proved to be the better tire.
I know we've had problems getting some Michelins because they won't ship them to the US until the tire plants over here prove to be able to make the tire without problems. That causes issues when the tires are installed on new cars produced in Germany and shipepd to the US. If the car needs a new model tire replaced we can sometimes have a long wait.

jcc:

I am a very infrequent poster. Instead, I prefer to read the posts of people who come here to share their help, advice, opinions, and experiences for the benefit of others in the hobby.

You are no help at all. You try to get under the skin of other posters - again and again and again. You profess that you are "moving the hobby forward, one critical question at a time." That is a total crock. Also, you are disingenuous when you state that your "comments are based on a smidgen of logic." You simply want to be annoying - and you succeed.

Many people on this forum know how to constructively question the effectiveness of a particular modification to an individual's car without the question creating an ugly, back-and-forth, name-calling event. However, the manner in which you enter these discussions leaves everybody with a sour taste in their mouths. When you appear, you take the fun out of being on Moparts.com. I am thankful for the others who continue to elevate the discussions - they keep me coming back to this site.

You have already begun burning your bridges on this website. I look forward to the day when you are stumped by some problem and come to Moparts looking for help/answers and nobody responds to you.

You will probably post back to me with one of your typically smug (but not-so-clever) responses. As always, do whatever you want to get your jollies.

I'm using a set of Michelin Super Sports currently and having done a track event on them I'm very happy.

Wow.It looks like the jcc fan club has gained another member.

I, too, firmly believe this place will be far better without jcc.

Larry, he didn't give himself the title of "moving the hobby forward, one critical question at a time." Instead, a moderator gave him that title and it was surely done in jest.

I get the feeling he is but a child trying to fit in with the big kids so to speak. If that's the case, he's failing miserably.

Jcc, once again, I invite you to leave.

I feel in the interest of the hobby, we should try to remember that most of us come from different backgrounds of experience and knowledge. Sometimes we may become over-serious with our intentions within the e-chat ... good time to take a break/breather if/whenever that happens.

Mopar Mitch "Road racers and autocrossers go in deeper and come out harder!"... and rain never stops us from having fun with our cars... in fact, it makes us better drivers! Check out MOPAR ACTION MAGAZINE, August 2006 issue for feature article and specs on my autocross T/A!

Mitch, you have good intentions but perhaps you've missed the never ending criticism and baited questions from jcc.
They were first met with encouraging responses but now even those who tried to help him have grown weary of his attitude.

It truly is well past time for him to leave.
