Hey guys,I'm getting ready to run at the track for the first time ever with a hood.I took my stock height fiberglass six pac and made a 5 1/2 out of it to clear the Indy intake with a Wilson spacer/adapter I use so I can run a 4500.Im thinking of running two more hood pins in the middle of the front and rear of the hood in addition to the four holding it down right now so it doesn't launch at speed, but I'm trying to find out what you guys did to seal your hood scoop to carb.Any pics would be awesome and appreciated. Thanks in advance.

This is what I did works ok. Indy intake, 1" wilson spacer. I don't have a pic right now on the computer so here is a link.

At speed the back of the hood flexs up some. Was going to build a underhood brace to stiffen the hood but never got to it, now building a new car.

Thanks Rod,I actually just got done looking at that issue the other night.Looks like its just a flat piece with foam?I like how it fits.I'll have to check it out next Thursday if your there.I don't think I'll have a pan on it by then.I've always ran without a hood,so I'm not sure if I should leave it off this time or if it would help even not being sealed.I like the transition you have going into the carb on yours. You shape that yourself?

We actually installed thin luan in the under side of the scoop and fiber glassed it in place . Cut out the carb hole and ran a small air pan.

I Have the same issue about the 1/8 mile it's starts flexing i don't have a pin in the back middle yet but working on it plus a airpan if you can see in my pic how high the carb is in the scoop
