A friend of mine had a problem with his and it turned out to be the computer. This was after having the trans rebuilt.

Your tachometer will tell you if it's slipping or if the converter is cycling.
What gear was it in when it was supposedly slipping ? How does your reverse engage ?
Put a load on it and you'll find out if it's slipping or not.
Foot to the floor thru all the gears , if it's slipping it will tell you.
