How much of a 4 door car can I use to build up my 2 door car? Is glass the same, fenders, quarters, etc? The rear windows are popouts (WM21), but I need lots of other stuff. The 4 door is a plain 318 70' car that I want to use for the 70' Bee.

Oh yeah, it's a hybrid.....it burns gas and tires!

Not a whole lot. Only the front windshield is useful as far as glass goes, oh and probably the vent windows. Front fenders, vallance, bumpers, grills, headlight buckets, and numerous misc. pces. quarters are obviously different, but you may be able to use them as patch panels depending on the condition of your existing SB panels.

I was looking for a 4dr parts car for the longest time, but I realized that there wasn't alot I could use as the interior/dash is different, front seat won't work, door panels are different, can't use the hood, doors, decklid, quarters, glass, trim, etc.

Everything from the firewall forward should be the same as a 2-door, hood fenders, etc. Double check the front glass because the front glass for a 4-door has a slightly different rake than a 2-door. Decklid should be the same.

Yes you can...Hood also works if you don't need a bulge hood, it can be modified for the Ramcharger scoops..Windsheild is different due to the angle, it stands more upright...Both bumpers & brackets work, fenders, grills, all the lights, if you need floor boards or frame parts they interchange, suspension & probably rear axle....Lots of stuff works...

I think the windsheild is different , it's taller , pretty sure it works for a 'vert , but not a 2 door .

Sorry I was wrong on the decklid and didn't know about the front window. Sure lots of stuff like suspension and driveline would work, BUT the odds are the 4dr car has sb or /6 rods, springs, an 8 1/4 rear, etc. etc. Lots of small misc. parts will work, but if you are restoring a real SB, the vast majority of the stuff isn't of any use.....ultimately it depends on exactly what you need and how much the parts car cost. For me there wasn't enough useful stuff to justify a decent 4dr parts car.

Can't use:
- any glass
- any ss trim
- most of the interior stuff (dash, gauges, glovebox, trim, f seat, door panels)
- doors, quarters
- none of the suspension
- none of the driveline (unless it happens to be a 383 doner, but I've never even seen a 4dr 383 '70 Coronet)

At the end of the day the OP just has to weigh what he needs and can get from the 4dr vs. the price.

Dave

No , WM is a Super Bee and it has a RALLYE dash , nothing is the same except the upper dash pad and a couple of switches ... maybe on the switches

Yep, nothing is the same on the dash - not even the switches. I have a bunch of non-rallye dash parts and switches that are free to anyone who wants them.

As far as sheet metal, alot. All the frames, floors, cowl/fire wall, rear tubs, trunk floor, trunk extensions, rear tubs, deck lid, radiator support, front fenders and aprons will interchange. The quarters from about center of the wheel wells back will work.
Of course the roof, doors, package tray, dutchman panel won't.
Windshield and trim won't either.
K-frame and drive train will.
Dash frame for non-Rallye is different than Rallye.
Heater box will.
Alot of the little whachyamcallits and whodoneits will work.

OK, OK, I give up; MOST stuff interchanges!

As I said, it really depends what you need. For me a 4dr parts car offered very little although to be fair I didn't need floors, frames etc.

As far as drivetrain goes, I'll say it again: 99% of these cars are 318 powered, so the K-frame, T bars, engine, tranny, rad, driveshaft, rearend, leaf springs are all not suitable for a Super Bee.

...only the OP can decide if a 4dr gives him enough of the parts he needs for his particular SB to determine if purchasing one makes sense. I just didn't want the poor guy thinking he could use more of the stuff than really interchanges.

My 70 crash guide shows the windsheild is different, but does show the ft door vent glass is the sams as a convertable.

You right, alot of the 318 stuff wont work for a Bee, but BB and SB K-frames are the same. Brakes and steering probably will work and as I said, alot of the little parts are great to have. I part out alot of 4-doors and have been a great source of parts for the cars that I work on. Need bracket here, a clip there , a couple bolts here and there. Have 6 four doors in the parts yard right now.

Didn't know that about the vent glass. Guess I should stop throwing them away.

4-door windshield is about an inch taller than 2 door.
