I have an internally balanced 408 and I want to upgrade to an aftermarket balancer. Should a new balancer just "plug n play" or do I have to have all the motor guts balanced again to match the new balancer?

thanks
BP

Yep, just get one for an internally balanced engine.

It is ALMOST plug and play , aftermarket balancers should be sized to the crank snout , I'm sure it will come with an instruction sheet saying so.

Get a measuremnt of the snout of the crank or just take your old balancer to the local engine shop and they can measure the old and hone out the new .
