Leon how long are the rods in those motors and would a 3.75 stroke crank work in the motor?

The rods fall in the 6.000" thru 6.200" range usually, and a 3.750" stroke will fit no problem (plenty of cylinder wall length).

This was a flat tappet Cup motor converted to roller. Today is a good day to shop for these. Just saw one on Racingjunk that was a great deal and DaveW has his for sale on Ebay it is at $5,900 right now. Both of these engines had the Bellhousing with them. [/quote

These Iron blocks are no more than 8.8" tall. So you figure from there. If you consider putting a 3.75 crank in it you divide that by 2. That would be 1.875. Now take that from 8.8". That leaves 6.925". So that would allow a 6" rod with a 1.075" compression height piston.

Huh? I get a compression height of .925. Stroke/2+rod lenght-deck height so you have 3.75/2+6.00-8.8=.925 and thats a short piston.

My family and I are looking forward to the move. Once we get settled in, my goal is to get to work on the XR2/P7 engine.
