66droptop OP enthusiast Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 309 S.e. lower MIch..	1966 coronet convertable...I am fixing the seats so I want to get the carpet back to black.The carpet was replaced in 1991,still looks great but it has faded in areas.What can I use to get the carpet black and do I have to take the carpet out of the car?

DaytonaTurbo Too Many Posts Joined: Feb 2003 Posts: 21,318 Manitoba, Canada	I tried dying a carpet once with RIT. Apparently synthetic fibers that the carpet I was working with would not accept dye. I ended up spraying it with SEM (which is a flexible paint, not a dye).
