I want to put a different wheel on the back of the Demon, can I buy 4.5 bc axles that will work with the brakes on the car so I just have to re-drill the drums.

what brakes are on it now? skinny 1 3/4 A-body drums/shoes?

or the larger brake with 4" wbp?

this will depend on the flange offset on the axles. if it has the large offset for large brakes..

then yes,you can buy axles with large brake offset and 4.5 wbp and re-drill drums.

I used moser axles with large brake offset and 73 C-body shoes/drums/backing plates on my A-body 8 3/4

You can, but there are good reasons not to, including the limited availablility of those drums. I have routinely found 10x2.5 brake systems in the self-serve yards with fresh brakes. Might be up to about $75 now, but the last set I bought was $50...

The only potential issue with going to this setup is that it widens the rear track 1/4" each side , shouldn't be an issue on a the Demon/duster body.

No I had Strange make me a custom set of 35 spline race axles for my 1969 Dart 8 3/4 housing with the stock A body small brakes, the stock axles spacing between the axle flange and the bearings is different on A bodys than all the rest They built the axles and when I went to use them I had to have the outer edges of the flanges cut down to clear the stock drums $75.00 by a local machine shop to reduce the axle falnges and another $25.00 to drill the larger 4.5 pattern in the stock drums and enlarge the center hole on the drums to fit over the new axle centering ring OP, have your axles and drums drilled and tapped for the 1/2x20 screw in studs I've had that done a bunch of times on stock axles, works good, last a long time

Simple answer is YES.

Moser makes LBP axles with SBP standoff distance. Drill the drums and good to go.

It's really not an issue on any body. Wide wheels, as always, will need to have the backspace measured correctly.

X2 & pick the correct width/bs wheels/tires & you're set. You lose the centering effect of the axle hub register since the center hole will be bigger on the BBP wheels so not sure if you need different lug nuts (hub centric??) or not to maintain concentricity Anyone?

Will the axle have the SBP hub register or the LBP register ? If the large then the drum needs to be opened up also.

What is the OP doing about the front ? will you have 2 different size bolt patterns on the car ?
