and it turned out pretty good I think. The combination of rod+piston+pin has a worst case weight difference of 0.3 grams out of a total 1492 grams...that's .02%. I'm truly happy with that.

And .5 of a gram is acceptable by most standards.

I've always heard that plus or minus one gram was the acceptable standard from most balance shops in SO CA Yours is well within those tolerances

How do the rods compare end to end , total weight is only part of the equation.

I'd be less concerned about minute weight differences and more concerned about measuring the rod & main journals and big ends of the rods for size consistency, taper, out of round, etc. and checking the small ends of the rods for pin clearance.

Yeah, I've checked everything except rod big end bearings, which I will check tomorrow. All has been perfect so far, to me the 440Source stroker kit looks very good.
The crank end play is at the bigger end, but this is probably due to the testing the machine shop did when line boring and honing the new billet steel main caps. The thrust bearing sides show signs of the testing.

One comment: Both the connecting rod weight and the piston weight are quite low, that is going to be a very responsive engine!

Yes, and considering 512 cui, approx 12.5:1 in static comp, about 9.5 in dynamic, E85 fuel, alu-heads, 1.6 roller rockers with a fairly kind Lunati 703 cam, full engine control...to say I have great expectations is an understatement...
But, the engine has become terribly expensive...if I screw it up I will be sorry...but I have noone but myself to blame...
