Its got a sticker don't exceed 4.34. Heard the had some issues and a lot of blocks had stickers. Would like a 4.5!
if it's got a sticker that says don't exceed 4.34, then it is a water block, not a siamese.
don't exceed 4.34!

That was mostly used for building legal ss motors before the world prod ones. Great block but you just cant build a real big motor with it.

Going to sonic test my 472 and curious what others have done with boring out block. Its about a 2007 block pre world casting
Is there a decal on the bellhousing flange saying to only bore to 4.340 ? If so it's a siamese bore reject that they couldn't use to build a 528 or sell as a good 4.5 bore. I have one , having it sonic checked , what I have been told is a cylinder or 2 will have enough core shift to make it not a good candidate.
Sleeve the offending holes with a good quality sleeve and let it eat.

don't exceed 4.34!
that is not the case , I have a 426 crate motor circa 2005 , it's a siamese bore block , or it's cast real bad because I can't pass anything between the cylinders I tried .

Don't trust the sticker. Do your own sonic, it might go to 4.5" regardless of the sticker. I have heard of that happening.

Exactly what I had done to the one I have , will have the sheet tomorrow.
And just because it's a new block doesn't mean it was machined correctly, one deck was higher than the other by .002 or .003 , the lifter bore angles were off ...
