The RF door speaker in my wife's car (the big one in the bottom front corner) is bad. Does anybody know if this is a coaxial speaker, or woofer? I have a 4 ohm woofer that will fit here - for a home speaker, but I know I should be using an 8 ohm. Anyway, anybody know?

Run over to the boneyard and pull one for cheap. The wrong ohms on a speaker can kill your head unit, then you'll be into it for even more money.

I've changed them and they are not to bad to change. However the boneyard replacements didn't last very long .I believe they are just as wore out.I would get new ones if I didn't trade the car out.I believe i have a magnet of one stuck to the toolbox. If I can read the ohms ,I'll get back to you.

Well, I know an auto stereo system will use 4-ohm speakers. All the home speakers I've built or rebuilt use 8-ohm. I THINK I can use the 8-ohms OK in the car, but they may not have the same output of a 4-ohm speaker. I'll call my speaker supplier tomorrow - they will know for sure. Thanks for the help so far.
