I'm going through my charging system and trying to bring it up to par. Optima battery in trunk, kill switch then up to starter. What is the hot setup? Car is a Duster street car with a kit and bottle heater. Thank you

Edit: mostly looking for what cable size to use, then I'll be looking at a Denso alternator

I had a #1 cable made and ran it from my batt to a common post on the firewall which ran straight to my alt. with a fat cable(not sure of exact size). Charges at 14.5 consistantly and a lot of my elc. gremlins are gone.

I do mine a little different... I run a hot line to
the master, from the master to a ford solenoid up front
and from the solenoid to the starter.. I use the hot
lug on the solenoid as a hot terminal for other things
inside the car... that wire from the batt is 1 gauge..
I run the alt wire from the alt right to the batt
side of the master.. thats a 6 gauge for a 85a alt...
I tap my sense wire from the alt into a constant
duty solenoid that runs the water pump and fan.. that
is the highest draw so it sees the lowest voltage
and gives the batt the highest charge... my batt
normally sees 14.8 volts
