I dont think there is a difference in the fender lip width from stepside to wide box.
my set up is exactly the same under ether one.

Well I thought I seen a 80's wide bed a long time ago with 15x10's & P295/50R15 and they stuck out alittle but on my stepside they were flush with the fender lip edge. The wheels I had on the stepside then have a 4 inch backspacing u can see in the pic that they look pretty flush with the fender

what backspace on those rims? they stick out like my 10" rim with 3.5 backset.
does look a little small for a truck, but a very nice truck on those wheels for sure.
