hey guys , I ordered new torsion bars for my 68 barracuda , it still had the factory small block ones and its now got a 440 , so they came in they are the same on both ends while my factory ones are like half a turn out . I tried to use them but either the car is down on the ground with no suspention or its jammed in the air and rock solid . what am I missing ? thanks

Make sure you have them in the right sides as I believe what you describe can happen if that is not done...

I've gone from the factory 318 bars .87" IIRC up to 1.00" bars on my 68 Barracuda with no issues with ride height. Not to sound like a d__k but it sounds like there is and issue with the install. The bigger bars don't have the same offset the the smaller bars do, so you will need to back off the adjusters to get the ride height set properly. Really big bars don't have the offset at all. Where did you get the bars, and what size are they?

Yep.
Bigger bars don't have the offset and also don't twist very much holding the car up. Jack the car up, loosen the front of the LCA to get it free, back out the adjuster real far, and tap the Tbar home. Then you can use the adjustment screw to hold the car up where you like it.

What make bars? There was a run of bars sold with unworkable hex "clocking". I don't remember the vendor name but if you post somebody will tag it.

I'm running 1" bars also and the installation process was exactly same as stock with plenty of adjustment.

Here's a pic that I took, it's the MP .920 bars side by side with the Just Suspension 1.00" bars, it's easy to see the hex offset. HTH, Steve

Yes, there is a front and rear and should be info cast into them on the ends, or paint marks near the front like you show in the picture.
