I want to install an oil cooler on my HEMI.

I am gonna run it with one of those oil cooler adaptors that install in between the oil pump body and the filter.

Does this one look like a good option?

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bmm-70273

or would I rather install something like this?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/181092566834?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

Im gonna mount it in front of the radiator....

I am afreaid the B&M unit might keep the oil a little "too cool" ???

Also, Im worried about oil drainback, which might cause dry starts....I was thinking about installing a switch to kill the coil so I can turn the engine a bit with the starter till the oil pressure is up, then start it.

Also, Im thinking that with the oil cooler on ebay I might have lesser issues regarding oil drainback and air getting trapped since its a single passage cooler? Also, it might be better so it doesnt cool the oil more than necessary?

Opinions????

***I am installing an oil cooler because my HEMI has a half fill of hard block, and seems its not cooling the oil efficently. Also, it went up to around 215°-220° after running for about 15 minutes at 2500 rpm during engine break in....water stayed at around 200°--->I decided to shut the engine down when I saw the oil reach that temp***

This is what I use..

Cooler http://www.summitracing.com/parts/der-13700

Automatic Thermostat for the cooler Fan http://www.summitracing.com/parts/der-13021

But used AN6 braided hose and fittings al the way from trans to cooler. Works really well... I attached the upper bracket of the cooler to the radiator support, then used the thicker Fan mounting straps for the lower bracket. I also put two cut to length plastic tubes between the trans cooler bracket and radiator, this so the trans cooler is vertical and not in an angle..

Hope this helps.

They both look like they would work fine.
I used the cylinder type on my 65 cuda bb car and it worked fine.
The fan unit with the thermostat is a really nice unit also.
Is your block filled?

The cylinder type I have has a filter in it. and I use it for a trans cooler. it seems to work good. been on the car for years now. I have change the filter a flew times. you can see it on my car if you look at the front where the lics plate would be.

You can use that cooler for the engine to. There is also a version of the same cooler but with size AN8 fittings. That one might be better suited for engine oil cooling applications because of the larger diamter flowthrough tubes.
