Any body on here built an engine over 12:1+ CR.? If so, where did you get the pistons and how did they work out for you. I'm thinking that I am in uncharted waters working with piston manufactures. Seems they can't get things exactly right....

Drag pack 5.7s are 12:1 or above.

I think Diamond, CP, and JE should all make pistons for that combination. They wont be cheap though, since they are an NHRA approved part.

Jerry - hemidup i think is his username can tell you alot more about this combination. he has a 5.7 engine in his challenger I believe.

They run a 2.100 chevy rod journal, and a 6.200 rod length. You can take a stock 6.1 crank and turn it down.

I think if you bolt the eagle head to a stock 03-08 5.7 your close to 12 because of the chambers size differences

You'll be about 13:1 with an eagle on a stock 5.7 block. The combo runs really good with the right tuning.

I'm going for 11:1 on a 6.1 with ported eagles. The chamber is very tolerant to compression in stock form and exponentially better when ported. Cam events are the biggest key to getting it right. Even though you gain compression with an eagle head, you also gain quench...which makes all of the downsides to more compression invalid.
