Hey folks.

I was wondering which lifters people were using with hydraulic camshafts? I have heard some stuff about computer ones, so I thought I would ask the pros for suggestions.

Thanks

Mike

Oops, that was suppose to be Comp Cam lifters, not computer...

Sorry, anyway do people have any opinion on who makes the best lifter?

No pro but I think the best are Schbeck(sp) but pricey...
if you do the break in according to the directions
and run the ones that come with the cam you SHOULDNT
have any problems... run the zinc additive... coat
the cam and lifters with the break in lube and take
the inner spring out for the breakin

I don't really know who makes/sells the best conventional hydraulic lifters, but my last two cams were Comps and I used their lifters without any problems. I've also used Sealed Power and Mopar Performance lifters with zero problems.

I'm using Sealed Power HT-976s. Be aware if you order some, that there are 2 slightly different versions of it. About 14 of the 16 I ordered were one way, the others were different and had slightly different seat height than the rest. So I went to O'Reilleys local and asked them to order me 4.. 3 were the right kind, so I bought those 3.

All the boxes said made in USA for what that's worth.

If your talking about just standard conventional hydrualic lifters, hands down Hylift Johnson...there are some lifters on the market that are made offshore that are horrible. Many of the name brands in the USA are made by 2 or 3 manufacters and re-labeled or private labeled,

They may be oil insensitive, but they sure aren't wallet insensitive!

They are " special" indeed, but the Stock Eliminator guys are sure glad to have them.

Another option is from Trend. Thye have basically for different version of a tool steel lifter available.

STD Travel
STD .904, low movement
STD travel, oiling to face
STD .904 low movement with oiling to face

Those are their economy Premium style lifters ranging from about $16.00 to $24.00.

They also offer Elite series ( CUP lifters) with other options from $34.00 each to $42.00 each !

Trend does a lot with NASCAR, and have some cool stuff.

Contact me if I can help.
