He treated them like a tourist by the sound of things. I have a couple choices up here who have good reputations , plenty of their stuff running every week end and they would all come in significantly cheaper.

2nd report I have heard about his practices charged one guy $36.95 for a fuel pump block off ($20.00 freight )was part of the charges

I don't expect work or parts for free , but I really hate the folks who try to retire on every sale. S&H is the most common gouge in on line sales and among the worst at it is.........drum roll please................Goodwill industries. I shop for knives on there , and to a store , they are brutal with their S&H. If it wasn't for the charitable aspect and the fact that I have gotten some really odd ball stuff , I would really be upset with them. The last time I had machine work done , I never thought to ask how much it would be. I had a ball park figure in mind and it came in almost to the dollar. Maybe a bit cheaper. And this was from a very good shop. ( R&R in Spring Lake Park , Mn. ) I just can't see a small market shop stealing that kind of money and expecting to stay in business long.

That just cant be...I mean...that work, IF thats all that was done should be $550-$700 depending on where you live. Can you get a invoice so we can see where this bill charges another $1600 ???? You can cover or white out the names, but damn.....there is no way they can charge an extra $1600 for that work...

I'd be a little embarrassed over it , but not nearly as much as having my name in the Sioux Falls gazette for rat stomping this crook for gouging me.
The press never wants to know why.......just who.
I considered " did he use a plate " but didn't factor parts.
But there aren't many parts involved unless he bought pistons from him , I am not seeing much else.
Shop supplies ?

Wow. I had my block hot tanked, shot blasted, hard block filled, align honed, bored with a plate, square decked, rotating assembly balanced, cam, main and rod bearings, main caps machined and girdle installed plus bought Wiseco custom pistons and pins for $2200.
I knew I got a pretty good deal but not that good. That's outrageous.
